Join us for an up and down few days. The ups of exploring places like Porto Santo in the beautiful sun and the downs of some difficult sailing whilst pregnant, feeling seasick, homesick and stuck on board with a screaming toddler - haha! It's funny now but oh my goodness, I don't know how I survived that trip. The ups definitely outweigh the downs but nevertheless, this is full disclosure of the nomadic life.
Thanks to our amazing featured music artists for supporting the show! You can listen to them all on our Spotify playlist: www.tinyurl.com/t9fqquf

  • I have enjoyed your videos a LONG time! IN 1979, my gf & I sailed all over Bahamas, This song by Little River Band still brings me back to those precious days! "Time for a cool change"! Dave Mason-and Gerry Rafferty were all part of the sailing life style back then. We met these 2 brothers from Fort Meyers, FL. in Nausau, Bahamas casino-we both left in a dinghy to 2 anchored gorgeous sailboats! (we were young and adventurous at 25).(left -25 below in MINN.). Every nite we'd catch dinner, and share ours on the beach w/2 other sail boats. Do you remember the pink sand?? I know Lenny will dance to LRB-" the albatross and the whales they are my brothers". Thank you for sharing all your travels!!!

  • Elayna, you said that you were craving friends & family more so than Riley. We were the exact same. Not boat life same but had been living abroad for 6 years. We had a child (same age as Lenny) and really missed and longed for friends & family in South Africa. We went back home for what was supposed to be a lot longer but after a year and a half, we realised that our home was with each other. Our home had also outgrown South Africa, even though our hearts & our roots are and forever will be there! We went back every year on holiday which was amazing and I think we sort of envisioned it being that like when we moved back but realised we had grown so much as a family elsewhere but also that people have lives and those lives are pretty full and busy. I know its something you sort of need to go through and figure out on your own but I'm interested to see how it will be for you guys. If it didn't take 2 days of travel to get home, we would probably opt for spending a good 2 months out of the year back home. Keeping those special relationships in tact, giving our little guy (and us) something to look forward to with family and all, whilst keeping our little family bond close and safe. Hope your pregnancy is going well :) Its been a minute since I tuned in and just got reminded how lovely you humans are :) If you ever come past the Cayman Islands, you have a place to stay x

Your both beautiful and little Lenny isnt weird as you called him once he is just like you and you do funny things but are not weird he is copying you in his way. We are are praying for you daily. • I only ever watch you guys once in a while since you don't usually pop up on my suggested. But, I always enjoy watching you since you provide content that seems both surreal - sailing around the world - and are honest about what the downsides are. Most influencers don't do that but I think it makes all the difference. For me, it makes your content more enjoyable. I hope you get back to Australia soon!

  • We went to Porto Santos in August. The heat was unbearable but we had the best lunch of our lives at the beach cafe Restaurante O Calhetas at Ponta da Calheta at the south western tip of the island. Huge fish casserole. Taken out of the middle of the Atlantic that morning. But you guys are having that every day of your lives. The northern side of the island is crazy. It's like being on the moon.

  • I found this about the Moke: Hope it helps in the future.... :) Reverse is to the right and back. Most likely you need to select nuetral, come straight right and then lift the stick, it is spring loaded, and then you should feel/move it backtowards the seat. In the gearbox you have there is a small plate to prevent you from finding reverse by accident, you simply lift the stick over the plate and it is there.

Lived in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, France. Never ever have I missed my family and friends so much than now with Covid not ALLOWING us to travel anywhere and shutting me and my family down here in the UK. This virus has a hidden and ver insidious back-handed way of making you feel bad and sad. I hope it soon stops. It is emotionally painful.

And seeing both of you with him brings tears to my eyes. You both are such loving parents! Being a Mom myself, with 3 adult daughters, I fully understand your wanting to go home, where family and friends are, most likely, eager to hear, firsthand, your adventures at sea. • You guys are doing remarkably well given your circumstances. I really feel for Elayna with her pregnancy topped off with her seasickness. That must be awful. I've been seasick sailing to Martha's Vineyard and they talk about people looking green. I saw my reflection in a mirror and I swear the skin on my face looked GREEN and I felt as green as I looked. It was such an awful feeling. I was lucky that the distance to Martha's Vineyard was so short I didn't suffer for long. When we came back to Cape Cod we travelled on a big ferry. Both my sweetheart and I felt as sick as dogs and the smell from the diesel engine's exhaust top it off. So you have my sympathies Elayna and trying to perform normal duties under the circumstances is virtually impossible. As for Riley, sailing a boat by yourself, non-stop is brutal. It's beyond exhaustion. The good thing is you made it in one piece. May you be wisely guided in taking your next steps.
